Counselling in Balewadi–Baner

Couple Psychotherapists in Baner, Pune

Our couple psychotherapists at SafeMind in Baner–Balewadi, Pune work with long-standing patterns, attachment wounds and unresolved history that keep couples stuck. Sessions combine insight-oriented work with practical skills, in person or online.

Some relationship problems are about the present: schedules, money, in-laws. Others are echoes of the past, such as how each of you learned to handle closeness, anger or disappointment in your families growing up.

Couple psychotherapy slows down to look at those patterns. Our therapists draw on CBT, emotion-focused and inner-child approaches so that each partner understands their own triggers, and the two of you can respond differently to each other.

Signs it may be time

You might recognise yourself here.

  • The intensity of fights seems out of proportion to the issue
  • One partner withdraws while the other pursues
  • Old hurts or infidelity still shape your daily interactions
  • You both want change but short-term tips have not stuck

These are common experiences, not a diagnosis. Only a qualified professional can assess what is happening for you.

Questions

Couple Psychotherapists: common questions

What is the difference between couples therapy and couple psychotherapy?

Couples therapy is usually focused on communication and current conflict. Couple psychotherapy goes deeper into history, attachment patterns and emotional triggers. Many couples use both.

Is it suitable after infidelity?

Yes, though it takes time and both partners need to be willing to work on repair. We help structure that process.

Do we need to attend together?

Most sessions are joint. Individual sessions can be added where useful.

Are sessions confidential?

Yes, subject to professional and legal requirements. We agree ground rules in the first session.
