Counselling in Balewadi–Baner
Emotional Regulation Therapy in Baner, Pune
Emotional regulation therapy at SafeMind in Baner–Balewadi, Pune helps adults understand intense emotions, anger and mood swings and respond with more choice. We teach skills from CBT, DBT-informed and mindfulness approaches, in person or online.
Emotions are information, not enemies. But when feelings arrive fast and strong, it can seem there is no gap between feeling and reacting. Many people describe snapping, shutting down, crying unexpectedly or feeling flooded.
Emotional regulation work builds that gap. You learn to notice early signals, name what you feel, calm your body and choose how to act. Over time, intensity usually becomes more manageable and relationships feel safer.

Questions
Emotional Regulation: common questions
Is emotional dysregulation a diagnosis?
No, it is a pattern that can accompany many conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, depression or trauma. Assessment helps identify what is behind it.
Can emotional regulation be learned?
Yes. Skills such as grounding, labelling feelings and delaying reactions can be practised and strengthened.
Do you use DBT?
Our therapists use DBT-informed skills alongside CBT and mindfulness. We do not run a formal DBT programme.
Will I lose my emotions?
No. The goal is not to feel less, but to have more choice in how you respond.
